GAC STANDARDS

All parents of WIKU students are required to sign the Declaration of Intent to home school
forms with the Georgia Department of Education and a copy is also retained at the center.

​Attendance reports are maintained and sent to he Georgia Department of Education for each student in attendance
each month.

Transcripts are maintained for all students at the center and contain all courses completed and the total number of
clock hours.

End of course tests are administered to all students at the end of each course taken.

WIKU utilizes the California Achievement Test (CAT) and the Basic Achievement Skills Inventory (BASI) for testing.

Students at the center are given many opportunities to engage in such activities as field trips and other group activities.

When a student transfer from the center, the administration at the center assists the receiving school in the placement
of the student in the rght grade level or course.

The center serves students a maximum of 60% of the required time and the other 40% is done at home.

The school year consists of 180 days.

The center has curriculum planners with one possessing a master's degree.

All students in attendance who are classified as a high school student are enrolled in college preparatory curriculum.

The center staff believes that each child is unique and needs a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where the
child can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. This philosophy is reflected in all aspects of the center.

The center maintains official SAT/ACT reports of all seniors who take the exams.

Funding for center operations is provided by the parents of the students enrolled and by donations.
